2 BOOK SIGNINGS THIS WEEKEND!!! OCTOBER 3, 2009

KUTTAWA, KY. AND HANSON, KY.
We are truly blessed with the opportunity to do 2 book signings this weekend Saturday October 3, 2009.

The Lyon County Chamber of Commerce has invited the Author (Me: Pam Whinnery) to do a book signing of “Favorite Recipes of Kentucky Celebrities” at the Autumn Festival in Kuttawa on beautiful Lake Barkley. I will be there from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Proceeds from the book sales will go to the Lyon County Chamber’s project to provide Recycle Bends at the various Lake Barkley Marinas. All those boaters that come in after a day on the lake will have a place to recycle aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Isn’t this a great project!

Then we are going to Hanson, KY, which is just north of Madisonville to do a book signing starting at 5:00 p.m. as a fundraiser for the Hanson Lions Club at the annual Hanson Cruise-in.

Hanson has the distinction of being Kentucky's smallest historic district with a thriving art and antiques community. With architecture from the late 1870's - 1890's, what's outside is just as fantastic as the fabulous shops inside these architectural treasures. From art and antiques to biscuits and B-B-Q, Hanson Kentucky has something to offer for everyone. Reaching back into its vibrant history, Hanson has become a haven for artisans and antique collectors.

This should be fun! Come join us to help a wonderful organization.

The Great Outhouse Blowout Race is this Saturday September 12, 2009 at Penn Store in Gravel Switch, KY.

The 17th Annual Great Outhouse Blowout Race held at Penn’s Store in Gravel Switch, KY (near Danville). The September 12th event is carried live on ESPN. The celebration first started in 1992 as an Outhouse Dedication Ceremony at America's oldest country store, still in ownership and operation by the same family since 1845. The historic '92 event included performances by Chet Atkins and Billy Edd Wheeler. Dawn Lane Osborn, granddaughter of Alma 'Tincy' Penn Lane invited Pam to do a book signing as a fundraiser for Penn’s Store and its OUTHOUSE, which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, a Kentucky Historical Landmark, and a Kentucky Centennial Business.

I will be doing a book signing from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. under the WHITE tent marked CELEBRITY COOKBOOKS. And that is a whole new story. I ordered the new tent and it arrived 4 days before the book signing. However, when I opened the box it was a PURPLE TENT with PURPLE side panels and marked SCRANTON PREP SCHOOL. Fortunately, they sent us both labels so we could mail them overnight to each other.

The race should be great fun, but keep Dawn Lane Osborn of Penn Store in your prayers as she had to go to the Emergency room and was admitted to the hospital in Danville, KY yesterday.
